Open the exam link your teacher shared, or go to Edurena and enter your exam code.
Enter your email address and your unique exam code. Both are provided by your teacher.
Read the instructions on the pre-exam screen. The system will check your camera, microphone, and internet connection.
Accept the proctoring consent. Edurena captures snapshots during the exam to confirm your identity.
Click Start Exam. Answer all questions before the timer runs out and click Submit Exam.
When your exam covers multiple subjects (e.g. English, Maths, Physics), a subject tab bar appears at the top of the exam screen. Each tab shows the subject name and the number of questions. Click any tab to jump directly to the first question of that subject. The current question's subject is also shown as a small badge on every question card.
If your teacher enables TTS, a control bar appears during the exam. Use Read Question to hear the question read aloud, Read Options for MCQ choices, and Stop to silence it. Adjust reading speed with the speed selector (0.7× – 1.5×).
Your completed exam is saved locally in your browser the moment you click Submit. If your internet drops at that exact moment, Edurena will automatically retry up to 5 times over ~100 seconds. You will see a progress bar and a reference code (e.g. EDU-ABCD12). Keep the page open until submission succeeds. If all retries fail, you will see a recovery card — contact your teacher with your reference code.
In Live Quiz and Challenge Mode, you compete in real time against classmates. Questions are timed — answer quickly for a streak bonus 🔥. The leaderboard updates after each question with rank movement arrows (▲▼) and score deltas.
Competition Mode is a paid, structured tournament. Register with your school email, pay the entry fee if applicable, and wait in the lobby. Once the host starts, questions are broadcast simultaneously to all participants.

Go to TeacherLogin.html and enter your registered teacher email and password.
You'll land on your Teacher Dashboard. Your assigned classes and question bank are loaded automatically.
The Question Bank tab lets you create, edit, and delete questions. Supported question types:
Click + Add Question in the Question Bank tab.
Select the question Type, Subject, and Week. These fields power filtering and Subject-Sectioned grouping.
Enter the question text, options (for MCQ), and the correct answer. Optionally add an explanation shown after the exam.
Click Save. The question is immediately available for new exams.
Click ⬆ Import CSV to upload a spreadsheet. A preview table will show before anything is saved. Required columns: subject, week, type, question, option_a, option_b, option_c, option_d, correct_answer, points. Optional: explanation, instruction_text, passage_id.
Go to Exams tab → Create Exam.
Fill in the exam title, select classes, set a time window (start / end date-time), and a duration in minutes.
Set question count per subject if you want a Subject-Sectioned exam — Edurena will group questions by subject, in the order you choose, for students.
Enable optional proctoring settings: Face Detection, TTS, max violation strikes, and show/hide correct answers after submission.
Click Publish. Share the generated Exam Code and the exam link with students.
The Results tab shows all submissions for your exams. You can view individual scores, time spent, violation counts, and proctoring photos. Use the 🖨 Print button on the broadsheet to generate a print-ready class report.
Short Answer (AI Grading) — AI-graded responses show a score and confidence level. A ⚠️ Review badge flags low-confidence grades. Click Override on any answer to change the score manually. All overrides are logged.
Under Students, you can register students individually or import a CSV. Required CSV columns: name, email, class. A preview is shown before bulk registration runs.
The School Admin Dashboard (SchoolAdminDashboard.html) gives you oversight of all teachers and classes in your school. You must be registered with the admin role to access it.
New teacher registrations appear in Pending Approvals. Review and click Approve or Reject. Approved teachers immediately gain access to the Teacher Dashboard.
Click the Classes button on any teacher card to open the class assignment modal. Check the classes you want to assign and click Save. The teacher's dashboard updates instantly.
Click Transfer on a teacher card. Select which class to transfer and which teacher to transfer it to. The source teacher immediately loses access to the class; the target teacher gains it. This action logs an audit event.
Admins can configure Competition Mode sessions from the admin panel. Set question sets, entry fees (via Paystack), and time limits. Bot players are automatically added to lobbies that have fewer than the minimum number of human participants, ensuring the competition always has engaging opposition.
When a new Challenge Mode session is created, Edurena automatically emails all registered students a notification with a join link. Notifications are throttled to once every 4 hours to prevent inbox flooding. The email is sent via BCC in batches of 50.
The standard exam mode with AI face detection, violation tracking, offline submission safety net, TTS support, and real-time proctoring logs. Used for formal assessments.
